Description of the flag

Zemst (19,500 inhabitants) is located in the arrondissement of Halle-Vilvoorde. Zemst was mentioned in an old Mechelen chronicle as being in existence in 961, when king Arnulph of Carinthia defeated the Vikings near Leuven.

The flag is: Party per bend sinister, Sable, Or, Vert, Or, and Sable. Proportions are 2:3.

The flag was adopted on 25 June 1985.
