Lovendegem (9,000 inhabitants) is located in the arrondissement of Ghent.

The flag is: Quartered, I and IV Azure, a dog Or, with a collar Gules, II and III, Sable, a chevron Argent,semy of three shells Gules and Sable, inescutcheon Or, a two-headed eagle Sable. Proportions are 2:3.

Thie flag is a banner of the municipal arms.

The flag was adopted on 1 March 1988.
