Possible Compromise flag

[North China compromise flag] by Oskar Myszor

The star in the canton was probably a sun. In 1912, one party favoured the "five-coloured flag", while the other favoured the white sun on a blue field. This was probably a compromise design. It probably didn't last until 1920, as the "Blue sky, white sun, all field red" became the naval ensign in 1913.
