Der Bund der Vertriebenen ist der Zusammenschluß der in 21 Landsmannschaften, 16 Landesverbänden und 5 angeschlossenen Mitgliedsorganisationen organisierten Vertriebenen, Aussiedler und Spätaussiedler. Er ist der einzige repräsentative Verband der rund 15 Millionen Deutschen, die infolge Flucht, Vertreibung und Aussiedlung in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland Aufnahme gefunden haben und noch finden.

The Federation of Expellees is the union of the refugees, evacuees and late repatriates organized in 21 territorial associations [for former German territories], 16 state organizations [for the current Länder] and 5 associate member organizations. It is the single representative federation for the approximately 15 million Germans which after fleeing, being expelled or evacuated, found refuge in the Federal Republic of Germany.
