§ 1 Landesfarben
Die Landesfarben sind Rot-Weiß.
§ 2 Landeswappen

(1) Das Landeswappen zeigt auf einem Schild in Weiß (Silber) einen nach rechts blickenden, mit goldenen Kleestengeln auf den Flügeln gezierten und gold bewehrten roten Adler (Anlage 1).
(2) Die Urzeichnung des Wappens wird im Brandenburgischen Hauptstaatsarchiv aufbewahrt.
§ 3 Landesflagge
Die Landesflagge besteht aus zwei gleich breiten Querstreifen in den Landesfarben —oben rot, unten weiß— und trägt in der Mitte das Landeswappen. Das Verhältnis der Höhe zur Länge des Fahnentuchs ist wie drei zu fünf (Anlage 2).
§ 4 Rechtsverordnungen
Die zur Durchführung dieses Gesetzes erforderlichen Rechtsverordnungen erläßt der Innenminister.
§ 5 Inkrafttreten
Dieses Gesetz tritt am Tage nach seiner Verkündung in Kraft.

§ 1 State colours
The state colours are red-white.
§ 2 State coat-of-arms

(1) The state coat-of-arms shows on a white (silver) shield a red eagle facing dexter, decorated with yellow (gold) trefoil stalks on the wings and with yellow beak and talons (appendix 1). [Blazon: Argent an eagle Gules armed, beaked and with trefoil stalks on its wings Or.]
(2) The original pattern of the coat-of-arms shall be deposited at the Brandenburg Main Public Record Office.
§ 3 State flag The state flag consists of two equally wide horizontal stripes in the state colours —red above, white below— and bears in its centre the state coat-of-arms. The ratio of height to length of the flag cloth is three to five (appendix 2).
§ 4 Regulations
The regulations necessary for the implementation of this law are issued by the Minister of the Interior.
§ 5 Enactment
This law comes into force the day after its proclamation.

§ 3 Dienstflaggen an Kraftwagen

(1) Die Führung einer Dienstflagge an Fahrzeugen des Landtages wird durch den Präsidenten des Landtages durch Erlaß geregelt.
(2) Die Führung einer Dienstflagge an Fahrzeugen der Landesregierung wird durch den Minister des Innern durch Erlaß geregelt.
§ 4 Wimpel, Banner
Wird die Landesflagge als Wimpel oder in Längsform verwendet, so sind die brandenburgischen Landesfarben Rot-Weiß in Längsstreifen von oben nach unten (Rot links, Weiß rechts) anzuordnen und das Landeswappen in die Mitte zu setzen (Muster 1 bis 4 der Anlage).

Anlage:
Hängeflagge und Banner sind in der Regel länger als die Muster zeigen. Diese sind nur maßgebend für das Verhältnis der Größe des Landeswappens zur Breite der Flagge und für den Abstand des Landeswappens von der oberen Kante der Flagge. Bei überlangen Flaggen kann das Landeswappen nach unten gerückt werden. Doch nicht unter das obere Drittel der Flagge.

§ 3 Service flags for use on motorcars

(1) The use of a service flag on vehicles of the Land's Parliament shall be regulated by the President of the State Parliament by means of a decree.
(2) The use of a service flag on vehicles of the Land's Government shall be regulated by the Minister of the Interior by means of a decree.
§ 4 Pennant, hanging flag
If the state flag is to be used as a pennant or in vertical form, the state colours of Brandenburg, red-white, are to be arranged in vertical stripes (red on the left, white on the right) and the state coat-of-arms is to be set in the centre (patterns 1 to 4 in the appendix).

Appendix:
Hanging flag and banner are usually longer than shown in the patterns. These are only authoritative for the ratio of the size of the state coat-of-arms to the width of the flag and for the distance from the upper edge of the flag. In very long flags the state coat-of-arms can be shifted downwards, but not below the upper third of the flag.
