Description

White flag with a dark blue border and a red iron cross in the center.

Jorge Candeias, 18 April 2001

The border around the flag has to be black, as the society's colors are black, white, red. The cross is slighly different. Attached photograph (copyrighted!) from the society's URL.

Ralf Stelter, 18 April 2001

From the DGzRS FAQ webpage:

Die Flagge der DGzRS wurde am 24. Mai 1867 durch Erlass des Kanzlers des damaligen Norddeutschen Bundes verliehen. In den Farben dieses Bündnisses gehalten, zeigt die Flagge als Emblem das Hansekreuz.
That is:
The DGzRS flag was granted 24th May 1867 by Decree of the Chancellor of the then North German Confederation. Using the colours of this confederation, the flag shows the Hanseatic cross [sic] as emblem.
The flag can be seen in this picture of the DGzRS Zander rescue boat.

Santiago Dotor, 21 May 2002
