About the pennant
The National Board of Antiquities (NBA, Museovirasto,
Museiverket) is the state
authority responsible for Finland's historical
objects:
buildings, excavation sites etc. It even runs several
museums, including the National Museum in Helsinki.
They have their own pennant which is flown in the
summer on buildings administrated by the NBA, e.g. the
castles of Turku, Hämeenlinna and Savonlinna, except
on national holidays, when the state flag is used.
The pennant is composed of a golden outlined swallow-tailed cross (seal of the NBA) on red square, the fly being in the national colours, blue over white.
