Presentation of Léon

Léon is located in the north-west of Brittany. It is an ancient Bishopric and County. Its historical capital city is Saint-Pol-de-Léon (Kastell-Paol ), its largest city is Brest (200,000 inhabitants).

Description of the flag

The flag of Léon is a banner of arms: a black lion without claws, tongue and teeth on a yellow field. The canting arms of Léon dates from 1276. Leon means lion in Breton.

The flag wsa designed by Yoran Delacour (1996) and approved by the Breton Vexillological Society.
