Duga Resa is one of five cities in Karlovac county in Croatia.
In late 1990's, possibly 1999, was adopted new coat of arms and
the matching flag. The coat of arms is Vert six bars wavy Argent.
The flag is rather simple, according to the strict rules imposed
from the Ministry of Administration. It is green field with the
coat of arms in the middle. The CoA is boreder in white,
apparently. Ratio 1:2.
Six wavy bars certainly refer to big hidrographic power of the
region, though weather there are indeed six rivers to which the
six bars refer individually, or if it is a general representation
of waters, I can't tell. However, as I witnessed myself not long
ago spending a nice weeknd there, the region is indeed
"boiling" of the fresh mountinous waters in early
spring, surrounded with gentle green pastures.
The information was provided by a FAME visitor in January 2002.
Before the adoption of this coat of arms, Duga Resa used
occasionally CoA-like emblem, but there was, as far as I am
aware, no flag to accompany it.
