Overview

The community of Drnje is NE of Koprivnica toward the Hungarian border and river Drava. with about 2200 inhabitants. The coat of arms and the flag are adopted on 19 September 2000 with decision pubished in the official gazette (available on-line at <www.glasila.hr>). The subsequent statutes also refer to the coat of arms and flag design: Odluka o grbu i zastavi Opcine Drnje, 19. rujna 2000. Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, br. 4/01, god. IX, Koprivnica, 27. travnja 2001. Statut Opcine Drnje, 21. rujna 2001. Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, br. 10/01, god. IX, Koprivnica, 28. rujna 2001.
The CoA is: Vert a thorny branch issuant from base with three roses argent and in the chief of the last a wooden boat peroper. The coat of arms includes thorns as canting (Croatian "trnje" locally "drnje" - thorns). The flag is blue with yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle.
On the primary school site it is shown a table flag probably based on the Ceremonial Flag not mentioned in decisions: blue vertical banner with the coat of arms in the middle, name of the Community above and four corn ears below, ending with a triangular fly. Fringed yellow.

Ceremonial Flag

This image is based on small photo of what appears to be a table flag at <free-kc.hinet.hr/os-drnje/opcina/opcina.html>. The details are more or less easily reconstructed except for the ornament beneath the shield - so the corn ear are rather "artistically" rendered by me.
