Overview

Lovran is a community of about 4500 inhabitants just south of Opatija some 10-15 km from Rijeka along the Istrian coast. Lovran is health tourist resort with long tradition, apparently just as old as neighbouting Opatija that started the Adriatic tourism in Austria-Hungary. Opatija and Lovran are connected with a romantic walking way lungo mare (along the coast).
The coat of arms of Lovran is in an oval shield a white tower on a green base between two laurel branches proper and blue and white wavy stripes in base. Lauren branches a canting for Lovran (Croatian lovor = laurel).
The flag is green with the coat of arms in the middle.
