From the Gyor-Moson-Sopron County Atlas:
"The area was already populated in the Stone ages. According to a document from 1237 the village was owned by the Benedict Abbacy of Szent Márton and later by the Bishop of Gyor from 1329 to 1848. The village was demolished by the Turkish troops in 1526 and became unpopulated. Repopulation of the village was begun in 1664. It has a population of 2406 persons. Interesting sights are: Baroque style Roman Catholic church from the eighteenth century"
