Description

Rahat is situated in the North Negev, just north of Be'er-Sheva. Established in 1970 and has 28,000 inh, all of them settled bedouins. Rahat in Arabic means group of people living together. The unofficial flag is white with the emblem. Sources: letter from city clerk Mr. Ali Abu-el'Hasan, 28 August 2001.

The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot, Yalkut ha-Pirsumim), YP 4424, 4 July 1996 and replaced the Local Council Rahat emblem which had been published in YP 2831, 1 July 1982.
