Republic of Alba (1796 - 1801)

The Republic of Alba was proclaimed on 25 April 1796. The flag was designed by Juan Antonio Ranza who said that the blue and red were for France and the orange is devoted to the tree of the Piedmont's shield. On 19 April 1801 the republic was annexed to France. The colours are reported as horizontal and also as vertical.
