The city or commune is Giardini Naxos, Sicily, immediately to the south of Taormina.  The gonfalon was blessed by the Bishop of Messina in a ceremony hosted by Lions International of Italy in a visit through the region.  Also present were representatives of Malta, Split (Spolato) of Croatia, Rhône-Alpes Region of France (Roma Augusta), and Italy (Roma Palatina). I think I have attached the correct Imperial names to the areas, and it is curious the usage of these terminology in the 21st Century.  Is this still common in Italian Organizations or other entities?
