Symbol of the City

The symbol (seen on the flag) stands for the Chinese character of Kwangju. The 8 figures colored blue means the town of light, which brings together the energies from all directions and extends lights changed from the energies into the whole nation. It also represents the capital city of the southwestern region of Korea.
