Matamoros

City in NE of Mexico (Tamaulipas), located in the Mex-Usa border over the Bravo River shore. Agricultural and industrial and commercial center (about 30% of the Mexican-United States of America trade is took place in Matamoros). Its population is about 303,000 inhabitants. Its main industries are chemical, electronics, textile (cotton).

Matamoros, Tamaulipas was part of the Departamento del Golfo. The registration flag used about 1923 was really similar to that of Lobos, Veracruz-Llave, but the colors are inverted: white in the hoist, red in fly and a red square in the canton.
