Number of inhabitants (1 Jan 2003): 16.609; area: 41,50 km². Settlements:
Malden (seat), Blankenberg, De Schatkuil, Ewijk, Heide, Heumen, Molenhoek
(part), Nederasselt, Overasselt, Schoonenburg, Sleeburg, Valenberg, Vogelenzang,
Vosseneind, Worsum.
Heumen lies just south of Nijmegen on the Waal river. It is a rural
municipality. In 1980 The municipality of Overasselt
merged with Heumen.
