About the flag

Samnanger municipality lies in Hordaland county.

As a symbol of the wet climate and the source of hydroelectricity, Samnanger chose a circle of yellow drops on a field of red as the design for its flag. The designer of the arms and flag was Even Jarl Skoglund. Approval for the design was given by Royal resolution of 27 April 1990. The proportions of the Norwegian flag, 8:11, are also used for the flag flown by the municipality of Samnanger.
