About the flag

This flag, which I briefely saw twice and of which I’m not sure about, is a banner of the of the local seal-like logo, which could be blazoned like «party per pale; the first argent, over a fesslet (?) vert, a templar cross, gueles, dexter demi per fess; the second party per fess, argent and azure, on a fesslet (?) vert, a pinetree, vert, sinister demi per fess»... The logo is round and has the region name in a white ring all around it, as seals usually do. I’m not sure if the flag is a banner of the “arms” or a “logo on bedsheet” flag, but in my brief sightings I could’t distinguish any ring nor lettering...

Presentation of Templários (Floresta Central e Albufeiras) Tourism Region

This odd named region encompasses the northern part of the current Santarém District and some of its north neighbouring municipalities. The name itself ("Tourism Region of the Knights Templar (Central Forest and Dam Lakes)"!) tries to refer the main local tourism attractions: a high concentration of Templar Monasteries and Churches (local municipalities were mostely donated to the Templars after the 11th cent. reconquer from the Moors), lots of dull industrial timber pinewoods thought to be “wild nature” and “ecologically rich” by naive types, and some large dam lakes (ditto).
