Description of the flag

The flag and arms of Sostanj are prescribed by decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi Obcine Sostanj, adopted on 20 April 1995, and published in the official local gazette Uradni list obcine Sostanj in 1995.

The flag is rectangular, in ratio 2;1 (vertical), vertically divided red-white, with the coat of arms placed in the second fourth from top of the flag. The height of the coat of arms is half the width of the flag.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms can be blazoned as:

Per pale or a semi-eagle sable langued beaked and membered gules displayed issuant from sinister and argent on a mount vert three heart-shaped stones gules one on two.

The artistic rendition of the eagle (and overall impression) reminds very much on Austrian flags.
