Presentation of the municipality

Trebnje had community status before the 1990s.

Coat of arms

[Flag of Trebnje]by Zeljko Heimer

The coat of arms that is seemingly in use is vertically divided in three blue-green-blue with three semicircles in lower parts countercharged and a golden lion couchant in chief. The coat of arms can be seen on several web pages devoted to Trebnje and its organizations, e.g. Trebnje Student Association.
This link in fact includes the list of local subdivisions of the community. At least one of those has its own coat of arms and possibly a flag too. It is the local subdivision of Mokronog. The coat of arms is canting, since the name can be tentatively translated as "wet-foot". The coat of arms show a human foot.
