The municipality of Vojnik was formed in 1995.

Description of the flag

The coat of arms and the flag are prescribed by the decision Odlok o obliki in nacinu uporabe simbolov ter pecatov Obcine Vojnik, adopted on17 April 1996, and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, nr. 26, 17 May 1996, pp. 2175-7.

The flag field is of unusual light green shade (15% Pantone 361) with the coat of arms in the lower part. The flag is in ratio 1:3, vertically hoisted. The coat of arms is set in the middle of the boundary of the lower and the central square.

Coat of arms

[Flag of Vojnik]by Zeljko Heimer

The coat of arms can be blazoned as:

Impaled vert a crown or and gules a fess argent.

Even if it is not mentioned in the decision, it is quite likely that the coat of arms is much older than1996, and stems from the time of the Hapsburg (Austrian) emperors.
The Decision explicitly requires the fess argent to be grey, so I left it so in my image. The image is based on a very small image taken from the Internet. Therefore the crown is shown only schematically and probably quite wrong in details.
