Trenčín (Hungarian: Trencsén, German: Trentschin) has 56.828 inhabitants
(1990 census). In 1910 7805 inhabitants (47,1% Slovakian, 38,4% Hungarian
and 11,9% German). The town was the capital of Trencsén (Slovakian: Trenčín)
County of Hungary till 1918/1920 (Declaration of Martin). 1920-1938 in
Czechoslovakia, 1939-1945 in Slovakia, and 1945-1992 in Czechoslovakia.
In the end of the 11th century it became the county-seat, in 1111: town,
in 1405: Free Royal City. City Tower, churches, Trenčín Fort on the Castle
Hill. Built 12th-17th century. The first mentioned Hungarian Royal Fort
in 1069.

The flag from 1807. The slogan says 'ist hoc armatos donat cives
Trenchinienses'. On the reverse side of the flag is depicted St. Franciscus
Xaverius and the city view.

This matches well with Slovakian COA map I refered to several times
before. The flag matches the SK site showing all the COAs and flags. The
COA shown there is slightly different, in that the flag carried by the
lamb is white with red couped cross.
