    Overview

According to <www.maracaibo.gov.ve>, the official flag of Maracaibo is made of three plain stripes, equal and horizontal, white to symbolize the purity of the patron saint, red for the blood shed by the martir when dying and blue for the Lake of Maracaibo. In the upper left part of the white stripe there is the coat of arms in full colours.
