HILL STATIONS

Mirik, West Bengal

Though becoming increasingly popular, Mirik is still one of the unspoiled hill stations in the country, which is situated around Darjeeling. Nestling in forested hills at an altitude of around 1,767m, the resort has the man made Sumendu Lake as the focal point. The surroundings are enhanced by orange orchards, cardamom plantations and tea estates. Superb view of the mighty Kanchanjungha is another attraction. Accomodation is also no problem. DGHC Tourism has constructed picturesque cottages at Mirik with locally available materials. The complex has modern facilities.

Clothing
Summers: Tropicals or light woollens are enough for summer.
