PILGRIMAGES - OSIAN

       An ancient town of the Thar desert, this is situated 65 km from Jodhpur. It is renowned for a cluster of ruined Brahmanical and Jain temples dating from 8th to 11th century. The most important temples are the Surya or Sun Temple and the Sachiya Mata Temple. The latter has a 'shikhar' clustered by a row of tarrets, an ambulatory and a large assembly hall with an elaborate ceiling.

       Jodhpur

Season & Clothing
       It receives an annual rainfall of 31.87 cm. In summer maximum mean temperature is 42.2 degree Celsius and mean minimum temperature is 36.6 degree, while in winter mean maximum temperature is 27.5 degree and mean minimum temperature is 15.5 degree. Suggested clothing include light tropical or cotton during summer and during winter woollen. Best season to visit Jodhpur is from July to March.
