A
sanctuary designated for the protection of the desert region of
north-west Gujrat, especially the outer rim and a narrow belt of
adjacent land. A variety of desert life can be found here, notably
the surviving herds of the Indian wild ass(khur); also wolf and
caracal (a large, pale cat with tufted ears). Access can be arranged
at Bhuj. The best time is from October to June.
