    Pinjore -
             The Moghul Gardens at Pinjore were designed by Fidai Khan, Aurangzeb's foster brother. Situated 20 km route from Chandigarh, near Kalka a the garden include. The Rajasthani - Mughal style Shish Mahal palace. Below it is the Rang Mahal and the cubicle Jal Mahal. There is an other house and other animals can be seen in the mini-zoo near the gardens. There are hourly buses from Chandigarh which stop by the entrance to the gardens. There are many places of interest along the 260km route from Chandigarh to Delhi.

    Karnal & Kurukshetra -
             Karnal is mentioned in Mahabharata and it was here that Nadir Shah, the Persian who took the Peacock throne from Delhi defeated the Mughal emperor, Mohammad Shah in 1739. The events of Mahabharata are supposed to have occurred here. The Kurukshetra tank, during eclipses, is said to contain water from every other sacred tank in India. In Kurukshetra you will also find small mosque, the Lal Masjid and a finely designed tomb.

    Gharaunda -
             The gateways of an old Mughal serai stand to the west of this village, 102 km north of Delhi. Shah Jahan built kos Minars along the road from Delhi to Lahore and serais at longer intervals.Most OD the Koa Minars still stand but there is left of the various serias.

    Panipat -
             Panipat, 92 km north of Delhi is reputed to be one of the most Fly-infested places in India due,to a Muslim saint buried here. He is supposed to have totally rid Panipat of flies. But when the people complained that he had done too good a job he gave them all the flies back, multiplied by a thousand. It is the site of the three great battles . In 1526 ,in 1556 and in 1761.

    Rohtak -
            70 km north-west of Delhi which was once a border town between the Sikh's and Marathas regions and were the subject of frequent clashes.

    Hansi -
            North west of Rohtak was where Colonel Skinner died (Skinner's horse, the private cavalry regiment he founded in the large areas of northern India for the East India Company)

    Sirsa -
             90 km furthernorth west is an ancient city but little remains apart from the city walls.
