This series, illustrated in black and white throughout, was published by the Heraldischer Verein "Zum Kleeblatt" von 1888 zu Hannover e.V. a German heraldic society, in their year-books [hzk] from the double volume 12 and 13 of 1974/75 through the triple volume 24,25 and 26 of 1986/87/88. All articles include an extensive bibliography.

The first part of this series was divided into Mattern 1975 and Neubecker 1975 both in the Jahrbuch 1974/75.

Then followed Mattern and Neubecker 1977, Mattern and Neubecker 1979, Mattern and Neubecker 1981, Mattern and Neubecker 1985 and Mattern and Neubecker 1988. The series was then discontinued.
