Sokolov city flag

[Sokolov city flag] by Blas Delgado Ortiz, 16 May 2001, after image by Peter Exner

This flag of the city of Sokolov is obsolete: the new flag is horizontal green over white, with a light-brown falcon in the center. No shield, no hills, only the falcon over both horizontal stripes. 'Sokol' means: falcon. German name: Falkenau.
Jan Zrzavy, 14 May 2001

How "obsolete"? Did the FOTW-version never exist, or did it become an historical flag? (Any dates?)
Peter Hans van den Muijzenberg, 14 May 2001

The present flag of Sokolov has been accepted in 1992 (7th May). The plain bicolor (VW) is reported as a historical flag but I don't know how much official it was.
