This is a new municipality, formerly the municipalities of Appeltern and Wamel, 30 km west of Nijmegen. It is in the Betuwe, the garden of the Netherlands. Maasbommel, a small village, was a Hansa city. Seat: Beneden Leeuwen.

The double headed eagle symbolizes undoubtedly Maasbommel's past as a Hansa city.
