Municipal flag

Zutphen is an old town in north Gelderland, in the 11th century seat of the Lords, later Counts of Zutphen - the region south of Zutphen is still called 'Graafschap' ('County'). It was member of the Hansa league and in the 17th century an important border fort.

The unofficial old flag was horizontally BW. The new flag has the anchored cross from the municipal CoA.
