Vlagtwedde is in east Groningen, bordering on Germany. It includes the famous marshes of Bourtange, where in the 1593 a fort was built
for the defense of our realm. Hopefully all villages and neighbourhoods will not all make their own flag: there are c. 70!
The flag has in the canton a gun, symbolizing the Bourtange fort. I have no idea about the further symbolism of the flag.
