Municipal flag

Montfort or Ambt Montfort is a municipality southwest of Roermond. In medieval times it was part of Gelre; there count Reinaut II kept his father prisoner in 1326. The Grauwert ('grey fort'), the castle, where that happened, was slightened in 1794. <it does remind me of Groznii>
