Grubbenvorst is in north Limburg, just north of Venlo on the Maas river. This
municipality is well known because of the asparagus-growth and because of the
remnants of the castle of Grubbenvorst ('Het Gebroken Slot'), demolished in the
80-years war (1568-1648).
The flag is derived from the municipal CoA, which in turn was derived from CoA's
of powerful families there.
