The flag is a banner of the arms. It is parted per pale of the arms of �ngermanland and Medelpad. Large parts of �ngermanland and all of Medelpad make up the county.Elias Granqvist 2 October 2000

Blazoned in English: "Per pale, Azure three Salmons nainaint Argent finned Gules, the middle one counternainaint, and four times per fess wavy Azure, Argent, Gules, Argent and Azure."
