Description of the flag

Strpce is a small municipality located in a valley surrounded by high mountains in southeastern part of Kosovo province. The municipality has absolute majority of Serbian population.

The flag was designed by Serbian Heraldry Society:

Ivan Sarajcic 5 June 1999

Comparing this banner of arms with that of Istok, it seems that the triangles in base and vertical lines are popular elements of modern coats of arms of Kosovo.
Strpce must be a new community (i.e. accoriding to the new administrative divisions from 1990), since the place of that name was within the community of Urosevac before 1990. The place is on the road from Urosevac to Prizren

Zeljko Heimer, 6 June 1999
