Hang Trinh Nu, the "Virgin" Cave is also known as Mid Gate
Cave. According to legend, an old couple's beautiful daughter
was forced to marry the old local mandarin. After escaping,
she was afraid to return home as it might endanger her parents'
life.
She decided to commit suicide in Mid Gate and story has
it that her body turned into the stone statue lying atop
a flat surface.
