Even the building is a work of art: the Museum of Fine
Arts. The building itself was designed by Ringstrasse architects
Semper and Hasenauer, the interior decoration was done by
painters such as Makart and Klimt. Apart from the world's
largest collection of Bruegel paintings, the museum houses
works of art by Dάrer, Rubens, Velαsquez and Titan. Dinosaurs
await you at the Museum of Natural History across the gardens,
and at the nearby Ethnological Museum("Neue Burg") you can
wander into exotic worlds. These museums came into being
thanks to the imperial families' enthusiasm for collecting
things, as did the Albertina graphic collection and the
Museum of Military History.
