Tipping
Tipping cab drivers is not necessary. Tip about 10% in restaurants.
Passports and Visas
A passport is required. Visas are not required for stays of
up to 60 days. Temporary residence permits are available in
the capital of Mbabane for longer stays. Most visitors don't
require a visa, apart from citizens of Austria, France, Germany
and Switzerland, who can get them free at the airport.
Getting Around
Swaziland has a good system of buses running regular routes,
and minibus taxis running shorter routes at slightly higher
prices than the buses. Most roads are good but there are rough
ones out bush. Driving down the Ezulwini Valley in heavy traffic
can be slow and dangerous. Away from the main population centres,
the main dangers are people and animals on the road.
