During the 15th century, Brunei was the dominant power
in the region under the reign of Sultan Bolkiah, the 5th
Sultan of Brunei.
His cemetery lies on the banks of the Brunei River at Jalan
Kota Batu near the Brunei Museum, marked by a mausoleum
to preserve the ancient tomb.
