This is a work of Macau's greatest architect, Jose Tomas
de Aquino who combined both European and Asian ideas for
a leading Macanese family in the 1840s. One of the palaces
houses the offices of the governor and his cabinet while
the other is the home of the governor. However, these pink
palaces are not accessible to the public unless invited
by the government.
