Situated about 30 kilometers from Kuala Perlis and 51 kilometers
from Kuala Kedah. Langkawi is one of the main tourist destination
of Kedah. Relatively remote and unspoiled in it's floral
and fauna. It is a fascinating island for a quiet tranquil
holiday. Langkawi the largest of the 104 islands, lies along
the northwestern coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
The islands contains unique rock formations, with stunning
stalactites and stalagmites, limestone outcrops, lush forest,
fascinating waterfalls and mysterious caves. The clear,
emerald waters around the islands provides a host of water
sports and recreation, to the visitors as well as a magical
world of marine life. Getting there, is easily accessible
through the Langkawi International Airport at Padang Mat
Sirat, about 20 km from Kuah and 8 km from the beach resorts
in Pantai Cenang. Malaysia Airlines and Pelangi Air operate
daily direct flights from Kuala Lumpur as well as via Penang.
