The National Monument is constructed in 1966 in honour of
the nation's fallen heroes. Designed by Felix de Weldon
of Washington's Iwo Jima Memorial fame, the 15.54m high
bronze sanctuary depicts seven men from the Malayan security
forces symbolising the seven qualities of leadership. A
moat, filled with founatins and ornamental water-lilies
surround the entire structure.
