The Natural Rubber Museum at the Rubber Research Institute's
Experimental Station in Sungai Buloh, was officially opened
on 11 February 1992. Housed in a wooden building which once
served as the residence of the station's assistant manager,
the museum traces the history and development of the rubber
industry in Malaysia.
Among the artifacts displayed within are the different tools
used for tapping and for collecting and processing latex.
Various apparatus used for experimental work are also exhibited
together with charts, pictures, publications and documents
depicting various aspects of the industry. Visitors may
get to see how a real rubber estate looks like and view
workers at work in an area specially reserved for this purpose.
Opening hours: Mondays - Saturdays: 10am - 4pm; Closed on
Fridays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
Admission is free.
