Ming Village

Ming Village in Singapore

The Ming Village in modern Singapore is the largest and remaining pottery center of its kind in the region. Here, the complete traditional process from mould making and handthrowing to glazing, hand-painting and firing is all housed under one roof.
Till today, Ming Village produces and sells its products only at its factory in Pandan Road, thus guaranteeing only the finest available at reasonable prices.
Singapore craftsmen and artists have been trained by highly skilled experts from China and Taiwan, capable of undertaking the meticulous task of creating 're-births' of original pieces. Traditional methods of craftmanship are scrupulously followed using similar materials but, working with better facilites, creating and painting only by hand, no two pieces can be identical, thus making replicas masterpieces in their own right.
At Ming Village, commissioned pieces, custom-made items and Corporate orders are also under-taken. Certificates of authenticity/guarentee carrying a brief history and description accompanies each reproduction piece. For overseas orders, items are carefully packed and a mailing service is available providing a convenient alternative to hand carrying your purchases. Similar attention will also be given for packing items to be hand carried. Professionally conducted tours by our in-house guides will give you a better insight into a world of artistic wonder. For those who wish for a closer involvement with this fascinating art, Chinese pottery and painting classes are held for groups of at least five persons, each lasting from a few hours to a whole month. Specially catered classes for Conventions or Incentive groups can also be arranged.
When you visit Ming Village, you may find yourself leaving with replicas of originals found in renowned museums of London, Paris, U.S.A. and Taiwan.!
