Confucius Temple

Confucius Temple in Taipei

The Confucius Temple is dedicated to Confucius, teacher of all generations. Since Confucius is taken rather as a saint or sage than a god or deity, the atmosphere in this temple is more sedate and orderly than in other temples. September 28 is the birth anniversary of Confucius, it is also celebrated as Teachers' Day, classical ceremonies, which date back some 1,000 years, are performed at the temple.
