Levoca

Levoca in Bratislava

Levoca, was in the past one of the richest towns in central Europe. Just like many other trading centers of the past Levoca has its icon the Town Hall. It is a great example of the limitless imagination of the renaissance architects.. The gothic Church of St Jacob houses the highest gothic wooden altar in the world- reaching 18,6m. Not only is it record breaking but it was also created by one of the biggest names in European gothic whose famous altar scenes are said to be ahead of his time.
