An adventure playground, just one and a half hours scenic
drive from Christchurch at the base of the Amuri Range is
Hanmer Springs. A major attraction is the Hot thermal spring.
It is a rejuvenating place to rest and relax, but also has
a diverse range of outdoor activities in the surrounding
hills, forests and small lakes. These include walking, mountain
biking, kayaking, rafting, jet boating, trout and salmon
fishing and bungy jumping. Horse trekking, skiing, golf,
squash and tennis are also available.
